Promotive Engineering has specialised in modifying Porsches for motorsport for well over thirty years. Now based in Brisbane, Australia, we have helped our customers at the top level of motorsport achieve success, including winning the Australian F2 Rally Championship, wins in international marathon and tarmac rallies such as the Panama to Alaska and Classic Adelaide, as well as success in circuit racing including Porsche Cup.
It’s not just all about Porsches. We also provide builder assistance and make components for experimental aviation; and have design and fabrication capabilities for promotional and architectural projects.
We can make your car sing! Our engine and gearbox building service includes:
•Engine development and accurate tuning on our computer controlled engine dyno. Our dyno is specifically set up for 911 engines and has full data acquisition and a rating of over 1400hp at 10000rpm!
•Engine management upgrades including knock control, advanced tuning including gearshift control, dashboards and telemetry using Motec ECUs and Motec power management systems;
•Custom turbo and intercooler conversions (there always seems to be a twin turbo conversion here on the stand!);
•Twin-plug and water cooled head conversions including CNC head porting;
•Engine case air-flowing and dowel pinning;
•Close ratio gear sets, including sequential and paddle shift kits;
•LSD, gearbox spray lube and cooling systems, heavy duty diff housings;
•Pre-purchase inspections and general diagnostic services.
And while we are building your dream motor, we can help with chassis development to get the power to the ground, with:
•Coil-over suspension, RSR style arms and geometry modifications for ’65 to 89 model 911s;
•Corner weighting and setup for circuit, gravel and tarmac rally;
•Big brake packages including ABS retrofits;
•Chassis strengthening and lightweight components;
•Lightweight Tefzel wiring looms for maximum reliability.
Our fabrication services include:
•Prototype design with CAD and FEA with excellent materials knowledge;
•Reverse engineering and digitising;
•Full fabrication in aluminium and 4130 including TIG welding, tube bending etc;
•General machining and turning;
•Small production runs on our 4 axis CNC mill;
•Large components in aluminium or foam for mold making on our 4000 x 3000 x 500mm gantry CNC (we have even turned a new VW Beetle into a driving fiberglass Dinosaur!);
•Metal plate up to 32mm can be cut in our 3000 x 1800mm 3 axis CNC plasma cutter;
•Lightweight structural carbon or Kevlar composite parts made with RTI / Vacuum infusion.
